About the Georgetown Farmers' Market
Established in 1993, the Downtown Georgetown BIA is a proud host of the Georgetown Farmers' Market. The Georgetown Farmers’ Market was established when the Business Improvement Area (BIA) of Downtown Georgetown provided a 3 year start up grant for the establishment of a Seasonal Market on the Main Street of Georgetown in 1993. Showcasing only Ontario produce and locally crafted goods as a producer based market 70% of produce from each vendor must be from their own establishment. Vendor Fees enabled the Georgetown Farmers’ Market to become self sustaining in 1997. The market has always been run by a volunteer board comprising of local farmers, the market manager and citizens. In 2004, the Market came back under the jurisdiction of the Georgetown BIA as a sub-committee of the Board of Management administered by the BIA.
