Jim Hogg says the best thing about farming is “being your own boss and making your own decisions.” He and his wife Leah have made many key decisions for their family farm over the years. The couple took over the family dairy operation in 1988, but stopped milking 10 years later. Since then, both have had off-farm jobs but they’ve never stopped farming. Now, they focus on cash crops, beef cattle and maple products – they tap 2,000 trees every year.
