It is said a farmer never retires. Walking our property back by the river in 2015 we noticed the wild fruit trees had little bounty to show for the season. We reasoned the lack of pollination was the cause. In the summer of 2016 Deb and I put in our first hive. The season of 2017 saw and abundance of wild fruit which weighed heavy on the tree limbs. Since then we have become part-time retires and part time farmers, the best of both worlds. Honey and candles at present are the main products coming from this small venture albeit in limited quantities. Our goal is to manage the hives for the betterment of the bees and the local area micro climate. The aforementioned products to be harvested as it is presented to us.
