Glenn’s great grandfather, William, began farming in the area in the mid-1800s. The farming traditions have survived and evolved and have inspired Ryan, Rick & Kevin to embrace the family’s agricultural lifestyle. The Howe family’s ongoing respect for the environment has been duly recognized by local conservation authorities; notably, their innovative irrigation system, which enables judicious use of pond and spring water. A showcase for the specialty crops of Elgin County, the ‘Howe Family Farm Market’ is popular with both local residents and tourists.
