Tim Creton
“I like the sun on my back and I’m good at gardening now. I’ll never get fired and I enjoy the selling,” says Tim Creton. Tim grows his market garden “just like our grandparents did” with a lot of care and hard work. He’s a great promoter of local markets, which he considers the social part of his week. Tim avoids “run of the mill” vegetables, testing each heirloom or hybrid variety for flavour and durability before offering it to his customers. If it doesn’t meet Tim’s taste standards, consumers never see it: in 2009 alone, he tested 75 tomato varieties!
