Vendors for over 20 years, Mona & Borge Pedersen’s market stall is practically a local institution in Peterborough. “We baby our plants and offer quality perennials for a reasonable price,” says Mona. The Pedersens love seeing customers return year-after-year and their healthy plants generate plenty of word-of-mouth advertising. Mona says they gain maximum yield from their one-acre garden because “Borge is Danish and farms in the Danish way.” The work is constant, as perennials need potting at least two weeks prior to market, but the Pedersens love working outdoors and selling beautiful, hardy perennials to appreciative gardeners.
