Bea, Margaret & Susan Chan
“Our interest in nature was initially inspired by our home-schooling ‘experiments’,” remarks Bea. Clearly, the enthusiasm has persisted: for Bea, through the Ecological Restoration program at Fleming College and current studies at Trent University; and also for Margaret, who is studying animal science at Guelph. The gardens on their 10 acre spread are skillfully managed using ecologically sound methods. Habitat conservation practices for bees and butterflies are a priority, affecting not only the 8 beehives on the property, but also benefitting the swallowtail butterflies that are securely over-wintered. Bea and Margaret are proud to note, “All our products are grown, harvested and prepared with loving care.”
