“We are a small family-oriented farm in operation since 1996,” says Marc when describing the homestead he & Sylvie currently share with 5 of their 9 children. Marc and Sylvie met at l’École d’Agriculture de Sainte-Anne. Later, while travelling and observing various lifestyles, they were inspired by an Amish community to focus on market gardening. Today they produce an array of field vegetables and 3 large greenhouses enable them to cultivate and harvest their specialty, ‘shoulder-season’ gourmet greens, which are enthusiastically welcomed by customers. The year-round operation is indeed demanding, but Marc proudly notes that “this is our only source of income and we have managed to raise 9 healthy children”.
